Kinetika Bloco aims to embody and promote a positive representation of youth in London.

The Kinetika Bloco is a performance group with an exuberant mix of young brass and woodwind players, drummers, steel pan and dynamic dancers all in costume creating a “unique new British Carnival sound with a decidedly London edge” (BBC Radio2).

Influenced by the Caribbean, Brazil, West and Southern Africa, New Orleans jazz, Funk and Hip Hop, the Kinetika Bloco members create the work with a team of professional tutors and help to lead the organization. Their mission is to get young people from South London engaged in long term creative activity advancing their education, skills, and capacity.

Through the music, dance, design and leadership activities they enable young people to have creative engagement, determine company policy and direction and to follow pathways for leadership and career development and participate in society as mature and responsible individuals.

Kinetika Bloco has an outstanding track record in musical progression, developing a consistent and proven talent pathway for young artists which empowers them to develop creatively and take a lead within Bloco and the wider sector. Kinetika Bloco has been a partner at Yellow Qube since 2017 running an After School club on Thursdays in term time for young people in Tulse Hill to learn drumming, dance, steel pans and brass and woodwind instruments.

Participants engage in hands-on learning using turntables and music technology, guided by experienced tutors.

Grooveschool provides training in DJ skills and music production that may lead to qualifications (including Arts Awards, AQA and RSL accreditation). Participants engage in hands-on learning using turntables and music technology, guided by experienced tutors. Tutors are selected on the basis of experience and expertise and are required to hold an up to date enhanced DBS.

We not only equip pupils with the individual skills to DJ but also promote how to incorporate this into an electronic instrument ensemble. Pupils learn how to use Vinyl Turntables, CDJ’s and DJ Controllers, Samplers, Synthesisers and Drum Machines. Composing and rehearsing a set for live performance. We supply peripatetic DJ tutors for music lessons including those studying for GCSE music.   

At Yellow Qube, we run an after-school programme during term time and during school breaks for ages 8 years and upwards including SEN provision. 

For family and wellbeing we run quality parent/child after-school bonding programmes.  

For pupils homeschooling, schools, after-school groups, community centres, music hubs, private tuition.  

For adults we run evening classes and weekend courses

We offer one-2-one, paired and small group lessons. Whether it’s coaching, mentoring or tutoring. DJs learn software to compile, construct, perform and record their own mixes. Musicians learn music production software to create and arrange original compositions. 

One-2-One bookings are made on request, subject to availability. Grooveschool also host Masterclasses with key industry figures covering a host of detailed subjects.  

Art makes children happy because they find their Selves and their Power. Kids are the best Artists!

Kids Kreate is a free Art Club for kids age 5-11 in Brixton, South London at three weekly venues. Being free of cost ensures there are never any money worries for the families.

Many children no longer receive any form of art education in their school curriculum. Kids Kreate the art, fun and space out of school for them because art matters.

Confidence, imagination, creativity, esteem, social and technical skills grow well as every child is fully accepted, listened to and given help by our Volunteers every week. Our job is to support them, showing them how to make what they want to. Supplies in place for a project or task, their personalities shine over time and we fully encourage all their ideas.

Art makes children Powerful. It is so important as their lives can be difficult and challenging. We give them a way to be their lovely selves. It is so good to see them progress, they form a strong team together whether they are regular or new to our Art Club.

The creative brain is calm, concentrates and brings a sense of peace. We often hear kids are doing better in school and creating at home, how wonderful is that!

Knowing that art brings happiness and freedom of thought and expression means children are likely to continue creating throughout their lives. That is what Kids Kreate is all about.
